초록
In January 2008, H.264/AVC amendment 3: Scalable Video Coding (SVC) was newly published. We present a short overview of the main functionalities of SVC, and evaluate the performance of SVC in terms of individual spatial,temporal, and quality scalability. Moreover, an SVC adaptive steaming method using dynamic SVC extraction scheme is introduced. The experimental results show coding efficiency and complexity of SVC under various conditions and a feasibility of real-time adaptation of an MPEG-21 based end-to-end SVC streaming framework.
