Abstract
The present invention relates to a method for carrying out motion compensation using motion vector prediction. An image decoding method therefor may comprise the steps of: acquiring a residual signalquantized for the current block; inverse-quantizing the quantized residual signal; and determining a transformation scheme for inverse-transforming the residual signal. The inverse transformation comprises a primary transformation and secondary transformation, and at least one from among a primary transformation scheme and secondary transformation scheme can be derived from a reconstructed block,around the current block, for which decoding is complete.
