- The present invention relates to an image decoding method, image encoding method, and a recording medium for storing bit stream formed by the image encoding metho. The image decoding method includes:determining a reference picture index for a current block; and inducing a temporal merging candidate block of the current block and calculating a temporal merging candidate from the temporal merging candidate block; on the basis of availability of the temporal merging candidate, including the temporal merging candidate in the merging candidate list for the present prediction block; acquiring a prediction sample of the present prediction block with the merging candidate list; performing inverse quantization and conversion to obtain residual difference sample of the present conversed block; andadding the prediction sample and the residual difference sample to form reconfigured blocks.
