- Abstract
- In this paper, we propose a multichannel audio service system on Satellite digital multimedia broadcasting (S-DMB) environment where the conventional S-DMB provides only stereo audio service. The proposed system is compatible with the conventional S-DMB receivers and it needs very low additional bit rates for multichannel audio service. To do this, we used a spatial audio coding algorithm based multichannel audio codec which is compatible with the legacy stereo codec and has very high compression performance.
