Abstract
A low-profile Fabry-P챕rot cavity antenna covered with a double-layered partially reflecting surface is proposed to enhance the gain and reduce the height of the antenna.A ray theory is applied to predict the resonance frequency and cavity height of the proposed antenna. The proposed antenna is useful for designing a cavity antenna with a low profile and high gain. The maximum gain of the antenna is 13.88 dB, and its total height is smaller than {\\lambda}/8 at an operating frequency of 2.46 GHz. The good agreement between the measured and predicted results ensures the validity of our design approaches. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
