Abstract
This paper proposes a design of low complexity PHY for close proximity communication at 60 GHz band which is under standardization process in IEEE 802.15.3e. The proposed low complexity PHY is based on OOK (On-off keying) and is designed for cost effective devices that require low complexity, low power consumption and simple design. The proposed low complexity OOK PHY for 802.15.3e provides data rate up to 6.57 Gbps using channel bonding. The proposed low complexity PHY provides enough throughput for close proximity wireless applications although its design is simple and it consumes less power.
