Abstract
In this paper, we propose a simple terminal identification (ID) based interleaver design for interleave division multiple access (IDMA) systems. The unique bitlevel permutation pattern generated by the proposed design only requires user terminal ID that can be considered a-priori knowledge to the receiver, as it is a user-specific way to differentiate uplink signals sharing a common time and frequency resource. It is shown that relatively short interleaver design with deterministic design offers almost the same level of performance as the conventional full bitlevel codeword-long interleaving sequence length.
