Rep. of Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport builds and provides the various 3D spatial information such as aerial images, digital elevation models or 3D structure models through the VWorld data center. WebGL-based 3D spatial information open-platform visualizes various 3D VWorld spatial information data in a web browser. In this paper, we propose a mouse picking method to select a desired spatial information for a user when 3D spatial information is visualized on the globe. Since there are many spatial information objects presented on the screen of a web browser, a picking method of effectively selecting a target object with a mouse has been developed. The proposed method minimizes the number of target spatial information models and also minimizes calculating time.
