Abstract
The fuzzy fingerprint vault system is one of the most popular solutions for protecting the fingerprint template stored in the database. Recently, however, this system is very susceptible to a correlation attack that finds the real minutiae using multiple vaults enrolled for different applications. To protect against the correlation attack, we propose an approach to add chaff minutiae by using relative information of the real minutiae instead of adding randomly. Experimental results show that the proposed approach can achieve much secure performance than adding chaffs randomly without a significant degradation of the verification accuracy.
