Abstract
This paper presents a supply modulator fabricated in 130nm CMOS process for an envelope tracking power amplifier. For a high PAPR LTE signal, a rail-to-rail folded cascode class AB linear amplifier is used for wideband and linear operation while high efficiency is achieved by a buck converter for low frequency components of a LTE envelope signal. The designed supply modulator could support delivered output power up to about 32dBm to a 3.25ohm load with peak efficiency of 89.8%.
