Abstract
The Ag-based back reflector was investigated for the improvement of light trapping in photovoltaic cells. Ag films were deposited on various under-layers-coated substrates using DC-sputter deposition at a temperature equal to or lower than 400oC. The result showed that the use of metal under-layers greatly increased the film roughness while oxide under-layers did not show a remarkable change compared to Ag films on bare substrate. The characterization of films also presented that Cu affected the development of rough Ag film differently from Al underlayer.
