IEEE 802.15.4a 기반 정밀 거리 추정 및 위치 추정기술이 최근 큰 관심을 받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 IEEE 802.15.4a에 포함된 CSS(Chirp Spread Spectrum) 기반의 다중 보행자 위치 추정기술을 제안한다. 기존의 무선위치추정은 고정된 인프라 기반으로 ToA(Time of Arrival) 및 TDoA(Time Difference of Arrival) 등의 측정정보를 기반으로 단말/보행자의 위치를 추정하는 것이다. 그러나 고정된 인프라가 없거나 사용 불가능한 경우에 다중 보행자의위치를 추정하는 방법은 GPS 또는 PDR(Pedestrian Dead Reckoning) 밖에 없다. 그러나 이 또한 실내의 경우GPS를 사용할 수 없으며 PDR의 경우 시간에 따른 정확도 문제에 의해 단독으로는 사용할 수 없다. 이런 기술적 문제에 동기부여 되어 본 논문에서는 CSS 통신모듈을 탑재한 단말들간의 P2P(Peer-to-Peer) 거리 추정정보를 기반으로 다중 보행자의 위치를 추정하는 기술을 제안한다. 이를 위해 CSS 기반 P2P 거리 추정기술을 설계하고 P2P 거리추정정보를 기반으로 다중 보행자의 위치를 추정하는 알고리즘을 설계한다. 그리고 실 시스템 구현 및 시험을 통해 제안된 기술의 우수한 성능을 검증한다.
