Abstract
This paper introduces the design of a 220 GHz band amplifier and a mixer for transmitters of high resolution active and passive terahertz imaging systems. The designed 220 GHz band amplifier has a small signal gain of 12 ~ 15 dB for 218 ~ 223 GHz. The designed 220 GHz mixer has a conversion loss of 13.8 ~ 16.6 dB, an IF-to-RF isolation of 22 dB, an input 1 dB gain compression power (P1dB) of -25 dBm for an input intermediate frequency (IF) of 5 ~ 17 GHz, an output RF of 217 ~ 229 GHz, and a local oscillation (LO) frequency of 234 GHz.
