Abstract
Advances in wireless positioning technologies such as WLAN, RFID, UWB, and Bluetooth have given rise to the growth of indoor location based services. This study introduces a design of system architecture for such services. When users move inside a building, their locations are located and information appropriate to their context is sent. The proposed system consists of three components. Raw data server is responsible for storing location information in form of Wi-Fi signal gathered from access points (APs) installed inside a building. Physical location is then estimated by analyzing raw data collected. Positioning database server is able to transmit optimized locations of WLAN APs to user devices whenever users require LBS within the building where they are present. Indoor map server supports a visualization of the building map.
