Abstract
In this paper, we develop the components which can get the eco-driving and safe-driving information using various vehicle information as a detail development of Vehicle-IT Convergence Platform by Android platform based mobile devices (e.g., smartphone, tablet). These components use vehicle information (e.g., vehicle mileage information, sensor data) for analyzing the eco-driving and safe-driving information. The vehicle information is gotten through CAN (Controller Area Network) that is inner vehicle network protocol. The vehicle information which is collected by an OBD (On-Board Diagnostics) communication module is transferred to a mobile device through a bluetooth network. The vehicle drivers can change the wrong driving styles and behaviors for themselves as they check eco-driving and safe-driving information these components provide. Through reusing the Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) provided by the eco-driving and safe-driving components, vehicle-IT related companies can develop various mobile service applications more easily and quickly. © 2012 IEEE.
