Abstract
Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) system is a kind of several automatic identification. It is expected to take the place of bar-code system due to simultaneously recognizing objects. However, adversary could easily intercept the transmitted data because of its radio transmission nature and the eavesdropped data is used to attacks such as Location tracking, Replay attack or man-in-middle attack, etc. in RFID systems. In 2010, Cho et al. proposed a new RFID mutual authentication protocol to resolve a variety of problem related to security using updating secret value. In addition, Cho proved that the proposed protocol was safe for a variety of attacks including Replay Attacks through safety analysis. Nevertheless, this paper demonstrates that Cho et al.’s protocol has a serious problem such as asynchronous secret value between the Server and the Tag due to data integrity problem. In this paper, we also propose simply improved Cho et al.’s protocol and prove that our propose protocol is more safety and efficient.
