Abstract
We introduce a new concept of communication technology called point-and-link communications, which aims to bring convenience to the users of D2D communications in LOS situations. We also propose a new beamforming scheme called Random Jitter Beamforming (RJBF), which is a key component in implementing point-and-link communications. RJBF is designed to eliminate the harmful effect of the side lobes and improve the angular resolution of the conventional beamforming. Simulation results showing the performance of RJBF is presented. © 2012 IEEE.
