본 논문에서는 병렬 컴퓨팅 가속화를 통한 웹기반 단백질 열 안정성 분석 시스템을 제시한다. 이 시스템은 단백질의 열안정성 분석을 위한 것으로 종래의 PSA 시스템의 문제점인 방대한 계산량에 의한 오랜 처리시간 문제를 해결하기 위하여 병렬처리 기법을 도입하였다. 적용된 병렬처리 방법은 이기종 아키텍처에 기반을 둔 것으로 쿠다(CUDA)기반의 GPU(Graphic Processing Unit) 및 인텔의 MIC(Many Integrated Core), OpenMP 기반의 멀티코어 CPU를 이용하여 멀티 GPU를 지원하는 PSA-mGPU 및 PSA- MIC 시스템을 개발하였다. 기존 PSA 시스템과의 성능 비교를 위해 질병 관련 단백질 서열을 바탕으로 인위적인 돌연변이를 제작하여 실험 데이터로 사용하였으며 시스템의 파라미터 변수인 온도 간격 및 단백질 서열개수에 따른 성능을 시험하였다. 실험을 통해 병렬 처리에 기반한 방법이 성능을 향상시킬 수 있음을 확인하였으며 특히, 멀티 GPU를 이용한 방법의 경우에는 기존 시스템 대비 16~220배의 속도 향상을 보여주었다.
