하이브리드 스토리지는 소용량의 고속 저장장치(DDR-SSD)와 하나 이상의 상대적으로 느린 대용량의 저장장치(HDD)를 조합하여 저가격에 고성능의 저장장치를 구성하기 위한 것이다. 하이브리드 스토리지 시스템이 최고의 성능을 내기 위해서는 각 데이터 블록들에 대한 온도에 따라서, 빈번하게 접근되는 핫 데이터 블록들은 DDR-SSD 위치하고, 접근이 상대적으로 덜 되는 콜드 데이터 블록들은 HDD에 위치시키는 것이 바람직하다. 이 논문에서는 실시간으로 데이터의 접근 빈도수를 측정하고 데이터들을 재배치하는 핫/콜드 데이터 재배치 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 새로운 블록 온도계산 방법, 데이터 복제 방식을 기반으로 하는 데이터 이동방법을 포함하며 시뮬레이션을 통해서 제안하는 방법의 우수성을 입증한다.
