A Study on Caution Ship Management with Ship Behavioral Information

- Abstract
- In order to provide safe and economic marine traffic information, it has been widely established and operated that Vessel Traffic System is consisted of multiple RADAR, AIS, CCTV, VHF, etc. According that the rapid increment of vessel transportation leads to increase the risk of marine accidents, it is needed the intensive management of caution ships which transport dangerous cargos or have accident history. This paper presents the caution ship management scheme which makes the database based on the ship's behavior of VTS operator's control command, notifies automatically to VTS operator when the caution ship enters within VTS service area. Further, the proposed method can be used to support the rapid decision making-process by utilizing the AIS text message and application specific message.
