AUTOSAR(AUTomotive Open System ARchitecture)는 최근 차량용 전자장비가 복잡해짐에 따라 하드웨어나 전자제어장치(Electronic Control Unit: ECU)에 의존적인 소프트웨어의 복잡성을 해결하고, 완성차 업체와 부품 개발 업체간 전장 소프트웨어 재사용성(reuse) 및 호환성(exchangeability) 개선과 자동차의 생산 비용절감을 목적으로 만든 개방형 자동차 소프트웨어 플랫폼으로, 현재 전세계 170 여 개의 자동차 및 IT 업체가 참여하고 있는 산업표준이다. AUTOSAR 4.x의 표준은 2009년 12월에 AUTOSAR 4.0.1 버전 출시를 시작으로 현재 AUTOSAR 4.0.3 버전까지 출시된 상태이다. 향후, 2013년 3월에 다수의 신규 기능이 적용된 AUTOSAR 4.1.1 버전이 출시될 예정이다. 본 고에서는 AUTOSAR 4.x 표준을 근간으로 하여 신규 기술 현황 분석 및 표준화 동향을 파악하고 표준안의 주요 내용을 살펴보고자 한다.
