Abstract
A dual-polarised compact base station antenna with high isolation is presented. High isolation is achieved by using a shorted spiral resonator placed below the metallic radiating patch. From the experimental results, the measured impedance bandwidth of the proposed antenna is 1.7-1.9 GHz for micro-cell systems and the isolation is more than 30 dB. The proposed antenna exhibits good radiation patterns and peak gain is 8 dBi. © The Institution of Engineering and Technology 2013.
