Abstract
In this paper, we propose IEEE 802.15.4 receiver design using LabVIEW and soft-defined radio platform. We consider direct-sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) receiver at 2.4 GHz free-license band. The receiver consists of synchronization, baseband demodulation, and de-spreading block. At first, the synchronization block estimates and compensates symbol timing offset as well carrier frequency offset. To reduce receiver complexity, the demodulation block is implemented by differential MSK instead of offset-QPSK and half-sine filtering method. Since the alternative demodulation method is applied, modified spreading code is implemented for de-spreading block. We verify the proposed receiver by decoding known data generated from commercial Chipcon CC2420 transceiver.
