Abstract
We propose a novel 2D mapping based gaze estimation method which allows the large movement of the user along Z direction. The proposed gaze tracking system consists of two wide view cameras to obtain 3D positions of the face and eyes and a single narrow view camera mounted on panning and tilting unit to capture the high resolution eye image. In the gaze estimation algorithm, the proposed method uses only distance information of the user to compensate mapping parameters. The experimental results show that the proposed method successfully compensated for degradation in accuracy due to body movement along Z direction.
