Makeup Simulation on 3D Facial Models Using Color Reproduction Technology

- Abstract
- When customers select cosmetics that best matches to their skin tone at stores, they used to try various cosmetics on their facial or hand skins and it is a tedius and time-consuming task. In this study, we therefore developed a novel makeup simulation system that allows makeup artists to conduct makeups on 3D facial models using virtual makeup tools that the proposed system provides. Color representation model estimates color values that appear when makeup is done considering the spectral characteristics of skin, cosmetics, and illuminants. This system can be used for various applications in cosmetics and skin care industries.
