Multiplexing with Automatic Synchronization for Stereoscopic 3DTV Service

- Abstract
- For dual-stream based stereoscopic 3DTV service, we propose a method to generate a 3DTV transport stream by multiplexing the two transport streams that are outputted from two different video encoders such as MPEG-2 and H.264/AVC encoders for left and right view, respectively. The proposed multiplexing method automatically synchronizes the two transport streams for left and right views. In order to automatically synchronize the two transport streams, sync data are inserted in the vertical ancillary data space data (VANC) of HD-SDI signals for the left and right videos.
