Abstract
As various sensor-embedded smartphones have become very common, a number of mobile applications, which require spatial data such as GPS, mobile phone base station data or network access data are being provided. In addition, organizations and companies are providing open API POI information. The information, meanwhile, has differences in terms of information expression method, accuracy, and update frequency so that international standards developing organizations (SDOs) of ITS, web, GIS, location-based services (LBS) are trying to bridge this difference. However, since their views of standardization and technical approaches are different, the research on users' (or LBS providers) perspective for which approaches are necessary is required. Throughout this research, the authors studied the international standardization trends on POI and proposed a conceptual model for POI sharing from the service perspective. The authors also expect that the research can help developing POI sharing model of LBS and mobile services in addition to carrying out future international standardization activities.
