Abstract
We proposed the Wi-Fi P2P based proximity service management mechanism which quickly and automatically finds a service which user wants among many proximity services that exist around user. The proposed mechanism uses connectionless messaging function which can transmit service information in Wi-Fi P2P device discovery phase. In the proposed mechanism, user firstly configures preferred service type information on his or her. And then, the mechanism automatically decides whether incoming service through connectionless messaging is corresponding to user's preferred service type without Wi-Fi P2P communication connection. The proposed mechanism finds and provides only user's preferred proximity services among many services which exist around user. Therefore, the proposed mechanism can considerably save service discovery and delivery time than previous Wi-Fi P2P. We implemented the proposed mechanism using Android-based smartphone. The implementation shows that the proposed mechanism can quickly and effectively find a proximity service which user wants among many proximity services
