Abstract
In this paper, we present cloned device (i.e., MAC spoofing device) detection mechanism in wireless network by using RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) and RF (Radio Frequency) features. The proposed mechanism analyzes RF characteristics of a device for detecting MAC cloned device and it also utilizes location (physical distance) information for improving detection rates. In this work, we utilize RF features having the highest probability in a given location to verify MAC address of the device. The proposed mechanism is implemented in the sensor hardware and WIPS server platform.
