Abstract
A novel type of semiconductor beating source, monolithically integrated dual-mode laser, and continuous-wave terahertz (THz) system based on it will be investigated. The combined system of the beating source and broadband-antenna integrated semiconductor photomixers shows the possibility of realizing industrially available cost-effective and compact continuous-wave THz systems. Using our own developed THz components, we exploited non-contact measurements of thickness and refractive index, which find enormous industrial applicability.
