Abstract
In 3D-HEVC, disparity vector is used for deriving candidate of motion parameters for a current block in a dependent view. The vertical component of the derived disparity vector mostly closes to zero, since the current test sequences are rectified in JCT-3V. However, the disparity vector with very large vertical component could come up, since there is no restriction for the vertical motion search range for the inter-view prediction. It increases the required memory-access bandwidth on the decoder side. Therefore, in this paper, the coding tree unit aligned disparity vector for a temporal inter-view motion vector candidate is proposed to reduce the memory-access bandwidth. Simulation results show that the proposed method performs negligible coding loss compared to HTM version 7 while the memory bandwidth to access the co-located motion data is dramatically reduced up to 97%.
