Abstract
The e-learning and e-book industry, which uses electronic methods and ICT and radio broadcasting in traditional education, is now facing a great change with technological innovation as well as the diffusion of ICT infrastructures. With the construction of ICT systems connected to networks anytime, anywhere, the world sees the past computer-based learning (CBL) shifting to web-based learning (WBL). In the future, 3D-based learning involving mobiles and other smart devices will be activated. Major e-learning trends include mobiles, tablets, social learning, games, online, HTML5, and interaction, focusing on expanding real sense and sense of immersion. With the application of voice recognition and gesture recognition technologies to smart devices, intelligence will be furthered. The 3D learning business has bright prospects considering the connection of augmented reality and virtual reality technologies to e-learning. This paper analyzed the trends of 3D learning by nation as a means of enhancing education performance and presented a strategy of activating 3D learning such as comprehensive design of 3D learning plan, development of 3D learning core technology, production of 3D learning killer contents, and pilot program of 3D learning business.
