- Abstract
- This paper introduces an algorithm to detect a soccer kick using a wearable sensor attached to the back of a kicking leg's ankle. The sensor data were examined in comparison to captured videos to analyze characteristics of kick motions. The algorithm was devised to measures impact from acceleration to find out ball-foot impact and then to search for leg swings for verification. Experiments with 5 subjects were carried out to show the accuracy of detection.
