Abstract
A specific anthropomorphic mannequin (SAM) phantom is a standard head model for assessing the specific absorption rate (SAR) compliance of mobile phones. Most bar-type phones commercially released in Korea have the internal antenna at the bottom of the phone body. The phone length and the spatial peak 1-g SAR of commercial phones were investigated. The spatial peak SAR values in the SAM phantom and human brains for simple bar-type phone models with different body length are numerically analyzed. The SAR change rates according to phone lengths are compared between in the human brains and in the SAM phantom are different.
