Abstract
The cloud computing technologies has been emerged recently, and the application areas of the cloud computing are rapidly growing, one of which is the media production area. Unlike the usual services, media production such as media encoding or transcoding requires very high computing power, especially for processing the emerging UHD media. Therefore, the existing cloud operating systems such as Openstack have difficulty in dealing with these heavy tasks using its inherent functions. In this paper, we propose a new resource management method which can handle multiple virtual machines (VMs) as a virtual cluster. The proposed method supports the heavy tasks and maximizes the resource efficiency by dynamically managing the resources in a groupwise manner.
