Abstract
The effects of stationary clutter on moving target detection radar are analyzed by simulations. Radar with pseudo random binary sequence (PRBS) based probing signal is utilized as moving target detection radar in the simulations. And results in case of target return and clutter show that stationary clutter does not disturb hardly the moving target detection, as long as below two points are fulfilled. The first is that the noise figure of a receiver setting to accommodate clutter without saturation has just little increase, compared to that of a receiver setting without clutter. The other is a signal-to-quantization noise ratio (SQNR) required for target detection is still available even if an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) is full with the clutter.
