Abstract
Mobility robustness optimization is one of self-organizing network function in LTE system. It aims to reduce handover failures accompanying unnecessary radio link failure due to inappropriate handover related mobility parameters settings. In this paper, we examined the LTE internal process when handover failures might occur, analyze the effect of mobility related parameters and design a MRO algorithm scoping conflicting types of handover failures in intra-frequency handover. It optimizes the mobility parameters considering handover failure types monitored in certain period. In the proposed algorithm, mobility parameters are selectively tuned based on handover failure type combination to reduce the handover failures.
