Abstract
Network coding (NC)-based repetition schemes contribute to increasing the reliability and efficiency of beacon transmissions in vehicular networks. In this paper, we propose a new distance-based network coded repetition scheme (called DNCR) for improving performance gain. In DNCR, a vehicle exclusive-ORs two beacons selected based on its distance to neighbor vehicles without collecting additional feedbacks from them. Our simulation study verified that our DNCR outperforms existing schemes in terms of beacon reception rate.
