Abstract
Parcel and postal volume had increased over 18% every year from 2005 due to invigorating e-commerce and logistics industry. In recent 5 years, the related market saturation has failed to curb the increase of parcel volume of about 5.3%. Korea Post has adopted high-speed parcel sorter with over 2.5m/s track in order to provide fast and steady delivery. Thus, this paper establishes a standard model of high-speed parcel sorting operation process and depicts a test-bed in Pusan parcel sorting center. Also, field operation results and simulation-based performance analysis are described.
