Abstract
In this paper, the effect of corrugated aperture on the common-mode current traveling along the penetrating wire is investigated. Computational results illustrate that the common-mode current on the wire can be significantly degraded due to the corrugated aperture acting as a filter. These effects cause the reduction of the radiated emission from the cables through the aperture on the shielding enclosure. To predict and analyze the characteristics of the common-mode current on the straight wire passing through corrugated aperture with cylindrical symmetry, the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method is applied.
