Abstract
In this paper, we describe an implementation of software defined radio (SDR) based multichannel receiver, where the number of receive channels can be modified as necessary by software. In the receiver, received signals are converted to digital data by analog to digital conversion (ADC) in a RF front end, and baseband processing of the digital data is then performed in each channel receiver in the digital domain. However, multichannel signals are plausible to cause analog to digital conversion (ADC) saturation that induces interferences to other channels. To avoid ADC saturation problem, an efficient automatic gain control for multichannel SDR receivers is also implemented while maintaining the signal strength close to a desired level. In addition, test results are examined to verify the performance of the receiver.
