Abstract
본 논문에서는 반도체 광 증폭기내에서의 상호이득변조 특성을 이용한 파장변환 시에 가장 큰 문제가 되고 있는 소광비의 저하를 해결하기 위해 SOA 2개를 사용하여 소광비의 개선을 목적으로 설계된 다단 {multi-stage)파장 변환기의 구현 및 실험 결과에 관하여 기술하였다. 변환되고자 하는 파장 변화 시의 특성을 조사하기 위해 프로우 브광의 파장을 튜닝시키면서 down-conversion 및 up-conversion 모두에 대해 파장변환 후의 소광비 및 파워 패널 티를 측정하였다. 또한 다단 파장변환기의 성능을 SOA 1개를 사용한 일반적인 상호이득변조 방식의 파장변환기의 성능과 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과 10 nm down-conversion 시 소광비는 3.65 dB, 패널티는 0.65 dB 향상되었으며, 2 nm up-conversion 시 소광비는 2.94 dB, 패널티는 0.9 dB 향상되었다.
