Abstract
A simple method to adjust polarization dependence in polymeric arrayed waveguide gratings (AWG) was studied. The reduction of polarization-dependent shift was demonstrated from several to 0.08 nm by modifying the fabrication process. The most important parameters for the development of low-birefringent polymeric materials were supposed to be low stress-optic coefficient and low coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE).
