A vertical handover based on software communications architectures

- Abstract
- In this paper we suggested a new software component, which is a DomainBroker, on Software Communication Architecture (SCA) of Software Defined Radio (SDR) Forum for supporting a vertical (inter-system or inter-domain) handover between different systems. The recent software components in SCA Core Framework (CF) are incongruent for supporting vertical handover because there is DomainManager software component in the highest component concept. We, thus, needed a supervisor component to manage a few DomainManager components for vertical handover. It is possible that the interoperability and independence between different domains is maintained by our DomainBroker component. We also designed an eXtensible Markup language (XML) Document Type Definition (DTD) Relationships of Domain Profile with DomainBroker and the CF Interface Definition Language (IDL) relationships between DomainBroker and other software components; DomainManager, DeviceManager, FileManager, etc.
