최근 데이터센터는 가상화와 클라우드를 중심으로 서버, 스토리지 및 네트워크 인프라까지 가상화를 한다. 본 논문은 전가상화를 구현하는 KVM과 컨테이너의 기술인 Docker 간에 성능을 비교분석 하였다. 두 기술 간의 성능비교는 평균서버 부팅시간, 정지 상태 평균 CPU 사용률, 가상화 생성 평균사용 메모리, 리부팅 평균 소요시간, 입출력 임의의 읽기 성능 및 입출력 임의의 읽기/쓰기 성능을 측정하여 비교하였다. 그리고 쓰레드 개수를 변수로 하는 선형다항식모형을 적용하여 임의의 쓰레드 개수에 따른 성능 예측을 수행하였다. 실험 결과 모든 상황에서 Docker가 KVM보다 성능이 높게 측정되었다.
