This paper considers how to transmit a set of image and depth for a depth-image-based rendering and how to reduce the bit-rate required for the depth transmission by incorporating the inverse discrete cosine transform(IDCT) with the anisotropic diffusion and adjusting the DCT coefficients of an 8 × 8 DCT block. ©2005 IEEE.
