Abstract
A Upconverter (U/C) module with the function of the frequency conversion from 3GHz to 20GHz has been developed for On-Board Switching Ka-band Satellite Transponders. A nonlinear gain variation within the temperature range of-15°C-+65°C could be compensated by using a thermal attenuator at the RF part for linear compensation and using a thermistor at the DC part for nonlinear compensation. The developed U/C module showed the conversion gain of 17.1짹0.2dB at the ambient temperature, the gain variation of 0.4dBmax at any 400MHz operating frequency band over the operating temperature of -15°C-+65°C. © 2005 IEEE.
