Abstract
A unique microstrip geometry, in the form of an open ring, is used to reduce the antenna size. It is shown that enhancing the capacitive coupling, at the ring open end, further reduces the antenna size. A simple probe-fed microstrip line, capacitively coupled to the ring, is used to feed the antenna from a 50 廓 coaxial line. © The Institution of Engineering and Technology 2006.
