Abstract
ZnS:Mn2+ phosphor synthesized by a modified solid state reaction which uses a higher pressure has shown increased cathodoluminescence (CL) intensity compared with that of a commercial one by ~180%. Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) reveals that the CL intensity is strongly enhanced because Mn is believed to be more easily substituted for Zn2+ under a higher pressure.
