Abstract
The Communication, Ocean and Meteorological Satellite (COMS) equips with single solar array on south panel and needs wheel off-loading (WOL) maneuver to control spin rate of momentum wheel during the housekeeping. WOL maneuver uses the south direction thrusters as North-South Station-Keeping (NSSK) maneuver does. Therefore, required velocity increments for NSSK maneuver can be decreased as performing WOL maneuver with optimal maneuver time. In this paper, weekly NSSK, East-West Station-Keeping (EWSK), and daily WOL maneuver which applied optimal maneuver time proposed by EADS ASTRIUM was performed during one year. A simulation result appears that WOL maneuver with optimal maneuver time contributes to inclination control and causes reduction of required velocity increments for the NSSK maneuver.
